Posting here in case no one else has poste. Scary but i say let the idiot go full-on insane so Repugs will have no choice but to oust him.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Those who know or watch President Donald Trump closely fear he is coming apart under the strain of his failed presidency and often aborted actions. Hes grasping to achieve something, anything, to prove hes up to the job, says a longtime business associate of Trump. Hes coming apart at the seams.
Joseph Nye, Harvard professor and author of Is the American Century Over? says that, under Trump, the reputation of the United States has diminished. Nye adds that being a reality host does not give him a global perspective that one needs as president.
This is not going to end well for this administration, a former FBI official says. Trump is out of control and what he does goes against core American values.
White House aides talk in whispers about Trumps temper tantrums that have become routine. He unleashes strings of obscenities, threatens to fire everyone and too often issues more ominous threats that include violence. He yells at people, saying he will kick their ass or even kill them, says one, who said she fears for her safety if her name is used. I think our president is insane!
A media report that questions one of Trumps actions can bring on a shouting attack against anyone nearby. Trump, she says, reduces staff members to tears and says some have quit because they can no longer stand being around him.
Secret Service agents joke that they should use the label Madman to identify Trump in radio conversations. Others joke about jumping in front of the president to take a bullet to protect him. I might be taking a bullet fired from a fellow agent.
Trump, they say, threatens to fire all of his secret service detail and replace them with bodyguards I know and trust.
That causes the agents to shake their heads because Trump has, in the past, hired personal guards with violent criminal records.
The president has no sense of duty, not understanding of what it takes to be the leader of a nation, says a former aide. To him, the only things that matter are serving his ego and fattening his wallet.
WOW!! New Mexico Democrats
A couple days ago as the hubby & i were roadtripping to Taos, on the way we passed through a small town called Mora. Many residents had lined the main road we were on waiting eagerly for a parade to come by. This as we would learn later is one of many fiestas throughout NM. One bunch of residents had a big sign that read 'Mora Democrats'. Recognizing we had something in common with these good townspeople, i instinctively rolled down the car window, waived my hand at them & yelled 'Hello fellow Democrats!' to the shock & laughter of my hubby & college age daughter. A few of the stunned residents smiled & waived back. They probably thought i was nuts but i had to show them my support.
Then earlier today as we went into Taos historic district there was another fiesta - this parade longer with alot more floats & residents out to revel. To my further surprise there were quite a few Democratic candidates & their supporters taking part in this fiesta - Michelle Lujan Grisham for governor, Tom Udall for US senate (i believe for reelection), Ben Ray Lujan for US congressional reelection, & at least 4 more Dems candidates for local & state positions. In contrast there were no GOP candidates. The Taos Democratic society members were also out marching proudly with a large sign & float as well. With all thats transpired over the past couple days i needed this picker upper, & couldn't be more proud to be a Democrat. Clearly New Mexicans weren't shy about flaunting their party affiliation. They've given me the inspiration to keep up the resistance in my own home town.
Confirmed: RNC Chair Reince Priebus was at Trump Tower for Donald Trump Jr.s Russia meeting
Source: Palmer Report
On the morning of the meeting in question, which is confirmed to have taken place at Trump Tower, an Associated Press reporter named Jonathan Lemire tweeted that he had just seen Reince Priebus walking into the building (link). This isnt proof that Priebus was in the boardroom for the meeting, but it in confirmation that he was in Trump Tower for the meeting. There was no other reason for him to have shown up there. There was a RNC fundraiser in New York that day, but it was at a different building.
CNN is reporting tonight that Donald Trump Jr.s attorney has coughed up some details about the eighth person at the meeting, insisting that the person was a U.S. citizen and was not employed by the Russian government while referring to the individual as having been a man (link). Juniors attorney was attempting to make things sound more innocent by confirming that the eighth person wasnt yet another Russian government representative. But instead, he ended up offering a description that just happens to fit Reince Priebus.
Its important to note that during the time of this meeting, Priebus was still the Chair of the Republican National Committee, and he wasnt working for the Donald Trump campaign in any way shape or form. So if he was in the meeting, it means the titular head of the Republican Party was officially in on the plot to conspire with the Russian government to rig the election on Donald Trumps behalf. Look for proof soon that Priebus was not only in Trump Tower for the meeting, but physically in the meeting as well.

Trump Confirms He Is Under Investigation And Blames His Own Justice Department
Source: HuffPost
President Donald Trump seemed to confirm for the first time Friday that hes being investigated for possible obstruction of justice and appeared to blame the Justice Departments number two official for the probe.
Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as a special prosecutor in an investigation of alleged collusion between Trump associates and Russia in the 2016 election. Rosenstein made the appointment after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation for failing to disclose during his confirmation hearings that he met with Russian officials before Trump took office.

Need advice on working election polls
Hello DU'ers,
Municipal elections (county commissioners, school board and city council positions) are going on at our locality this weekend. The county elections polling workers coordinator knew i'm bilingual so she called me to ask if i'd be willing to be on call for emergency work in the case one of their assigned workers drop out. Given i feel a bit guilty about turning her down the last time she called several months ago and the fact i don't really have anything pressing this Saturday i said yes (so my conscience will stop bothering me). That and the fact I am also very curious as to how workers can "cheat", and if there are any gaps in the system/process i can identify.
Anyhoo, need advice on what to watch out for, when best to take a break, etc. as she's told me the hours will be long - 6am to 6pm, possibly extending to 8pm depending on turnout.
Thank you and hoping our local Democratic candidates will kick butt!!

Deportation Raids Reportedly Ongoing Across U.S.
Source: Slate
President Trump(!) signed an executive order on Jan. 25 that vastly expanded the number of undocumented immigrants whose deportation is considered a priority for Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Under Obama, ICE prioritized "those who had been convicted of serious crimes, were considered national security threats or were recent arrivals," in the New York Times' words. The Trump order targets criminals but alsoamong othersthose who've been accused of crimes but not convicted, those who have engaged in document fraud, and those who "in the judgment of an immigration officer, otherwise pose a risk to public safety or national security."
Now, in the past two days, reports have begun to emerge of what seems to be a suddenly increased volume of crackdowns against undocumented immigrants across the country. From the Washington Post:
Immigration activists said Friday that they had documented ICE raids of unusual intensity in the last 48 hours in Vista, Pomona and Compton, Calif.; Austin, Dallas, and Pflugerville, Texas; Alexandria and Annandale, Va.; Charlotte and Burlington, N.C.; Plant City, Fla.; the Hudson Valley region of New York; and Wichita, Kan.
There were also reports of ICE checkpoints, targeting immigrants for random ID checks, in North Carolina and in Austin.
Both immigration activists and the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that some of the individuals who've been detained do not have criminal records.

Austin has become the first battleground in the Sanctuary Cities conflict
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/we-cannot-afford-to-make-our-community-less-safe-by-driving-people-into-the-shadows/2017/02/02/f14ed2d6-e5ac-11e6-ba11-63c4b4fb5a63_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-more-top-stories_austin-1240pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.d7142901b557"Austin has become the first battleground in that conflict, where the governor and a local sheriff are now locked in a standoff over the issue. A liberal enclave in the heart of conservative Texas, the capital city lies a little more than three hours from the Mexican border. About 35 percent of its 931,000 residents are Hispanic, according to U.S. Census estimates, and the city is home to a vibrant sanctuary movement that sprang to life during President Barack Obamas first term, when his administration carried out a record number of deportations.
In November, voters in Travis County, which includes Austin, elected a new sheriff, who campaigned on a promise not to detain people based solely on their immigration status. Hours after Trump took office, Sheriff Sally Hernandez (D) posted an eight-minute video on her official website explaining the new policy, which took effect Wednesday. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), a Trump supporter and immigration hard-liner, quickly fought back, accusing Hernandez of playing a dangerous game of political Russian roulette with the lives of Texans at stake... This week, Abbott made good on a threat to withhold $1.5 million in state criminal justice grants, money that funds services for veterans, parents struggling with drug addiction and victims of family violence. He also asked state agencies by Friday to prepare a full list of all state funding provided to Travis County, suggesting that additional punishment may be forthcoming.
Abbott called on lawmakers to act urgently to ban sanctuary cities. A measure drafted by state Sen. Charles Perry (R-Lubbock), an Abbott ally, would withhold state funding from cities, counties and colleges that do not comply with immigration detainers. It also would require county jailers to determine and record the immigration status of every arrestee. Supporters and protesters of the legislation crammed into the Texas statehouse Thursday for a hearing of the bill, which, as Perry acknowledged under questioning, does not actually define sanctuary city.
Last week, Abbott threatened to oust Hernandez, who was elected with 60 percent of the vote. Legislation to permit him to do so has yet to be filed, but a spokesman for Abbott noted that the threat to cut off state funding was sufficient to persuade the Dallas County sheriff to abandon sanctuary policies last year. Austin, however, is standing firm. Mayor Steve Adler, a Democrat, and other city officials have vowed to support Hernandez, arguing that most undocumented immigrants do not pose a threat to the community and that deportations have ripped local families apart."
I'm waiting for someone like Julian Castro to run for Texas governor or a dynamic woman like Ann Richards. Abbott is disgracefully blinded by his far right ideologies.
Virginia Just Filed A Contempt Motion Against Trump Over Immigration Order
Source: Huffington Post
The Commonwealth of Virginia asked a federal judge late Wednesday night to force President Donald Trump, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and top government officials to show why they shouldnt be held in contempt for failing to obey a lawful court order.
The temporary restraining order issued Saturday night by U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema of the Eastern District of Virginia required Customs and Border Protection to allow attorneys access to legal permanent residents that CBP had detained at Dulles International Airport as a result of Trumps executive order blocking people from seven Muslim-majority nations from traveling to the U.S. Saturdays court order also forbade CBP from deporting any of the legal permanent residents ― also known as green-card holders ― detained at Dulles for seven days. When federal judges rule against the government, any official implicated in the order, including the president, is supposed to obey ― even if they believe the courts order is incorrect.
But as The Huffington Post reported this weekend, CBP did not comply with the courts order. The border agency never let attorneys near the people it was detaining. And when Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) and at least four other members of Congress tried to get CBP to comply at various points over the weekend, CBP defied them.
