Democrats new leader suggests John Kerry just emboldened extremists. Meet your 2017 wild card.

There is an old saying in politics: The most dangerous place in Washington is between Chuck Schumer and a camera.

And the famously press-friendly incoming Senate minority leader could find himself in front of plenty of cameras in the months ahead — but perhaps not always in a way liberals will be terribly fond of.

As of next week, Schumer is the de facto leader of the opposition, wielding the best weapon Democrats have to thwart Republican President-elect Donald Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress: The filibuster. But just how much he will use it — and how resolutely he'll stand in Trump's way — remains to be seen. Schumer himself has suggested there's plenty of room for common ground, while also talking tough about Trump.

Adding to that intrigue is Schumer's outspokenness, which was on full display Wednesday evening. Hours after Secretary of State John F. Kerry delivered a controversial speech critical of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Schumer issued a statement. It wasn't surprising that the strongly pro-Israel Schumer would be at least somewhat critical of Kerry's speech, but Schumer really didn't mince words — at all.

“While he may not have intended it, I fear Secretary Kerry, in his speech and action at the U.N., has emboldened extremists on both sides,” Schumer said, citing Palestinian attacks after Israelis withdrew from settlements in Gaza.

So there's the incoming leader of the Democrats, suggesting a Democratic secretary of state and former fellow Democratic senator has “emboldened extremists.” That's very strong language.

Already Dems are fighting among themselves over Kerry's speech & Israel while Republicans stayunited

This is why Dems lose, they never coalesce among themselves, never united & DU does the same. We constantly fight among ourselves while the republicans march on & have now gained control of not just most of the State Houses of Government but all the branches of government in DC. Soon, Trump will add the Supreme Court to their wins & they say he will be appointing over 100 Federal Judges during his first term which will reshape the courts for years.

All of this it seems because Dems evidently want to fight among themselves. You all have seen it even here. This morning I was accused of smearing Schumer just because I told the truth about his friendship with Trump.

Will John Kerry’s Israel Speech Tear the Democrats Apart? ---http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/12/29/will-john-kerry-s-israel-speech-tear-the-democrats-apart.html

-----"On the Senate side, Chuck Schumer—the New Yorker and Senate Minority Leader—also lambasted Kerry.
“While he may not have intended it, I fear Secretary Kerry, in his speech and action at the UN, has emboldened extremists on both sides,” he said in his own post-speech statement."

---------------------
One longtime Democratic Senate staffer said he thought Schumer’s and Hoyer’s angry responses had more to do with anger about the White House’s poor communication with Congressional Democrats than with deeper policy differences. If Kerry and his team had done more to partner with Hill offices and try to get them on board with a broader strategy, he argued, then the worst of this unpleasantness might have been avoided.
Regardless, Democrats are going to have an interesting few years.

My point is if we really do want to win or expect to win & make gains, we have to have a united voice. Look at the Dems who ran away from Obama during the first mid-terms & most would have won it was found out if they had stuck by him. They were cowards. We have a popular President, his policies, we know he did good from where he started to where he ended & yet Dems continue to fight among themselves.

You would think we could unite just once, just long enough to win.

Trump's Buddy already started to try to be buds with him-Incoming Democratic Sen. Leader Schumer

Kerry May Have ‘Emboldened Extremists on Both Sides’

"President-elect Donald Trump may end up turning to an unexpected ally -- incoming Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer -- to pursue several major elements of his agenda."

Senator Chuck Schumer, who will be taking over as Senate Minority Leader when the new Congress is sworn in, released a statement critical of John Kerry‘s speech on Israel earlier today.

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer vowed that Democrats would oppose Donald Trump’s most controversial policies, but not all of the president-elect’s legislation, echoing earlier reports about Schumer and other Democrat leaders’ willingness to align themselves with some of Trump’s campaign promises. “We’re not going to oppose him just because it’s something that Trump sponsors,” Schumer said, noting that “candidate Trump voiced very progressive and populist opinions” on things like the carried-interest loophole, trade-deal reform, and infrastructure spending. He added that he hopes President Trump will “stick with them and work with us, even if it means breaking with the Republicans who have always opposed these things.”

The political wisdom of Democratic lawmakers working with Trump remains up for debate, but the president-elect sure seemed happy about Schumer’s olive branch on Sunday. Trump quickly responded to the interview and tweeted approvingly that, “I have always had a good relationship with Chuck Shumer. He is much smarter than Harry R, and actually, far more cunning — gets things done.” Trump then deleted that tweet and wrote another one in which a less-cunning Schumer had a properly spelled name:

I have always had a good relationship with Chuck Schumer. He is far smarter than Harry R and has the ability to get things done. Good news!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 20, 2016
Last January, Trump had also commented that he and Schumer were “close” in many ways.

Profitable' Washington Post adding more than five dozen journalists

Twenty-sixteen was the year The Washington Post came of age — again. In its audience growth, in the ambitiousness of its journalism, in its impact on the American conversation, the Post became the U.S.’s fourth national newspaper company, joining The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.

Now, come 2017, the Post seems to be doing something unique in daily journalism: It is adding journalists early in the year.

“We’re adding dozens of journalists,” Fred Ryan, the Post’s publisher and CEO, told me late last week. Ryan, in a recent memo, said the Post was “profitable and growing.”

“We looked at what succeeded for us in 2016 and made investments there,” he says. Ryan doesn’t want to specify the exact number of hires or how they will be apportioned. “We’re still rolling this out internally.”

Still, according to sources, we can figure that the Post newsroom will grow by more than 60 jobs — or 8 percent — an astounding number in this day and age. Such contrarian additions, of course, come at a time when newsroom staff reductions are the rule across daily journalism.

The Post newsroom will number more than 750, third among the national newspaper-based press and moving it closer to the Times, with which it increasingly competes for high-end talent. The Times complement stands at about 1,307, the company says. USA Today’s newsroom stands at about 450, while the Journal, after its recent buyouts, tells me it employs 1,500.

“We’ll make investments in mobile video,” says Ryan, citing Chief Revenue Officer Jed Hartman’s success and better monetizing advertising on the smartphone. “We believe that a less-than-15-second pre-roll can be very effective,” he says, noting that new mobile ad forms are still a work in progress, but well sought by advertisers.

Opinions May Vary & Appreciated but for those who have not or want to see again, watch in the best

order which many think is how they were released or you can watch them how they were made:

What's the right way to watch the Star Wars movies?

The Force Awakens is episode 7 in the film series. If you're seeing the previous parts for the first time or introducing the saga to your children, you might be wondering where to start.

Spoiler warning: This article mentions a major plot twist involving the character Darth Vader. The twist is well-known, but I'm being extra cautious as this post is partly aimed at first-time viewers with little knowledge of Star Wars, such as young kids (or adults who've paid no attention to popular culture over the past 35 years). A major plot twist for The Force Awakens is hidden on page 2 of the desktop site, but appears at the bottom of the mobile page.

Two viewing orders are usually proposed: as Star Wars creator George Lucas originally intended, beginning with episode 1 of the 'prequel' trilogy (I: The Phantom Menace, II: Attack of the Clones, III: Revenge of the Sith) or according to release date, starting with the 'original' trilogy (IV: A New Hope, V: The Empire Strikes Back, VI: Return of the Jedi).

Episode order (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Release order (4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3)
The right way to watch Star Wars is release order. If you haven't seen the first 6 films, come back later. For everyone else, I'll now explain how I came to that conclusion.

The avoiding spoilers approach

We ALL Should Be Dems right now & until we have overtaken the republicans:

The Dems are a very diverse political party because we care for "all"; not just Whites, not just Blacks or any one specific minority group. We accept "all" religions, not just Christian, not just Muslim, Jewish, Hindu but ALL religions.

We accept all immigrants, we do not shut the door on any one specific immigrant(s). We support Unions, Teachers, Bricklayers, Millionaires, Billinioares, whoever & we support the dignity & humane treatment of those who have lost their way & reside in our prisons.

We support Climate Change, all environmental groups, animal rights, elderly causes, students, LGBT, Transexuals & hetros as well.

My Point: If there was ever a time for us all to come together, it is now. Let's all work not for just our one priority cause for now but work for the Main Part of all the parts which is the Dem Party so we can in the future again be in a place where we can do good for everyone.

I know we all have our priority group but we need to unite & then we can all go back to working together in our various places.

Fox Host Hits Back at Guest for Calling Her a Republican

It seems republicans are getting really pushy about Dems have to work with Trump & support the President. What are they so nervous about Dems not supporting him?

Things got a bit heated on Fox’s Your World today when a Democratic guest accused guest host Trish Regan of being a Republican.

Democratic strategist Arash Aramesh got into a back-and-forth with Regan over some Democrats drawing a line in the sand and already declaring their intention not to work with Donald Trump.

At one point Aramesh told Regan that it’s hypocritical to say Democrats should be more willing to work with Trump when that’s not “what your party did.”

Aramesh told Regan she’s a Republican, but she said she’s an independent.

Aramesh remarked, “And George Stephanopoulos is also an independent.”

Regan said, “I see both sides, unlike many members of the media these days.”

Resist - Washington Post Commentor

The rest of America

"I listened as you called my President a Muslim.
I listened as you called him and his family a pack of monkeys.
I listened as you said he wasn't born here.
I watched as you blocked every single path to progress that you could.
I saw the pictures you made of him as Hitler.
I watched you shut down the government and hurt the entire nation, twice.
I watched you turn your backs on every opportunity to open a worthwhile dialog.
I watched you say that you would not even listen to any choice for Supreme Court no matter who the nominee was.
I listened as you openly said that you will oppose him at every turn.
I watched as you did just that.
I listened, I watched.
I paid attention.
Now, I'm being called on to be tolerant.
To move forward.
To denounce protesters.
To "Get over it."
To accept this...
I will not.
I will do my part to make sure, this great American mistake, becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be.
I will do this as quickly as possible, every chance I get.
I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country.
I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice.
I will let you know in a loud voice every time this man backs away from a promise he made to you.
The people who voted for him. Yes you, the ones who sold their souls and prayed for him to win.
I will do this so that you never forget.
And you will hear me.
You will see it in my eyes when I look at you.
You will hear it in my voice when I talk to you.
You will know that I know who you are.
You will know that I know what you are.

Can't believe how many Dems on here are saying the same thing as Dana Bash, we have no choice,

but to try to get along just like Schumer is doing or saying. Personally, I say give back what they gave us in doubles & try it for a change instead of being weak & cowardly which has gotten us to where we are now.

Christmas Mystery: Why Was Ann Coulter in the Mens Room at a 7-Eleven in Kansas?

There are already a few good mysteries associated with Jesus and his birthday, but yesterday, Ann Coulter added one more.

Why was she in the men’s room of a 7-Eleven in Kansas?

My Christmas card: 7-Eleven Men’s Room Door, Bonner Springs, Kansas, today… pic.twitter.com/eMlvWHceer

— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) December 25, 2016

We’ve reached out to Coulter for clarification on the tweet and the circumstances that led to it. Until we hear back from her, we have so many questions.

First, let’s look at the men’s bathroom. We must begin by operating on the assumption that the writing is inside of the bathroom itself and, thus, so is the tweeter. It is hard to imagine that a person would walk into a convenience store and, likely within eyesight of an employee or customer, write something on the outside of a bathroom, especially when the phrase is so racially-charged and polarizing.

Now, if it was a single-occupancy restroom, there isn’t really much of an issue. If it had multiple stalls, though, there could be. Kansas was in the news a lot this summer for having a legislature that wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea that people — especially students — might use the bathroom that corresponded to their gender identity instead of assigned sex. Then again, if the 7-Eleven was deserted enough, who would care?

Speaking of Kansas, why was Coulter in the heartland when she is listed as a “Connecticut native” on her own website and her Twitter indicates she splits her time between NYC and Los Angeles? The answer to this one is simple enough: she clerked there when she was fresh out of law school.

“Fresh” isn’t a word we often use to describe anything even slightly related to 7-Eleven, so we’ll stop the speculating about the circumstances there and wait to see if there is more to the story that came along with this simple, mysterious tweet.
