Source: Japan Today
Tadataka Unno, a New York-based Japanese jazz pianist, was assaulted by eight youths at a subway station on Sept 27. Its now unclear whether the 40-year-old, who suffered serious injuries, including a broken collarbone, will be able to return to performing again.
According to the New York Police Department, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. at a subway station near the victims house. When Unno disembarked at the station after work, he was suddenly set upon and hit by a boy, who appeared to be a teenager, at the ticket gate.
Unno managed to escape outside the station but was chased and beaten by a group of about eight boys and girls. During the attack, he heard them saying the word Chinese. The suspects have not been arrested.

Hong Kong police order arrest of exiled activists: China state media
Source: france 24
Hong Kong police have ordered the arrest of six pro-democracy activists living in exile on suspicion of violating the national security law, Chinese state media reported late Friday, but the city's force refused to comment.
The six included prominent young campaigner Nathan Law, 27, who recently relocated to Britain after fleeing Hong Kong.
Besides Law, the other activists sought include former British consulate staffer Simon Cheng, pro-independence activists Ray Wong, Wayne Chan, Honcques Laus, and Samuel Chu, according to CCTV.

Just these six? Why not include Jacinda Ardern, Boris Johnson and Dalai Lama for violation of "National Security Law"?
On a side note, Samuel Chu is one of the wanted activist - an US citizen advocating better lives for other US citizens.
This should mark the first time an US citizen has been wanted by Hong Kong police due to the security law.
China threatens to stop recognising BNO passports of Hong Kong residents
Source: Reuters
SHANGHAI/BEIJING (Reuters) - China threatened on Thursday to withdraw its recognition of British National Overseas passports held by residents of Hong Kong, in retaliation for the former colonial rulers policy of easing their path to citizenship.
Starting from January 2021, those in Hong Kong with such status would be able to apply for special visas to live in Britain that could eventually confer citizenship, interior minister Priti Patel said this week.
However, China opposes such a policy as interfering in domestic affairs, a spokesman for its foreign ministry said, calling the move a flagrant violation of Britains promises, international law and principles of international relations.

Russian satellite caught shadowing US spy satellite earlier this year launched a mysterious weapon
Source: Business Insider
US Space Command said Thursday that it has evidence that Russia tested a space-based anti-satellite weapon last week, revealing that Cosmos 2543, a Russian satellite caught tailing a US spy satellite earlier this year, released some sort of projectile into orbit.
"The Russian satellite system used to conduct this on-orbit weapons test is the same satellite system that we raised concerns about earlier this year, when Russia maneuvered near a US government satellite," Gen. John Raymond, the commander of US Space Command, said in a statement.
Raymond revealed in February tha a pair of Russian satellites, Cosmos 2542 and 2543, were shadowing a US spy satellite, specifically USA 245, also known as KH-11.
"We view this behavior as unusual and disturbing," he told TIME. "It has the potential to create a dangerous situation in space," he added, noting that the US had expressed its concerns to the Russians.

Former Chinese military man behind export of tonnes of medical supplies
Source: The Sydney Morning Herald
The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald can reveal that in February Mr Kuang helped coordinate two air lifts of medical supplies from Australia to Wuhan. The consignments included 35,000 sets of protective medical suits, 200,000 pairs of gloves and 10 tonnes of disinfectant. The goods went to hospitals and medical centres in Wuhan and five other cities at the epicentre of the crisis.
A February 16 memo that Mr Kuang issued via a community platform "calls for overseas Chinese in Australia to take action to contribute money, supplies and your kindness to your home country".
