Roomed withe a guy who had a girlfriend from Turkey. She stayed with us two weeks. She made this wonderful potato salad several times. I am going to make tomorrow.
Cut up potatoes and boil with skins on if you like - and any kind goes she said. Then drain and let them stay on the warm stove to "dry".
Cut up red and yellow peppers and red onion in quarter to half inch dice.
Add potatoes and veggies to a bowl big enough for what ya made. Then drizzle this with fresh lemon juice and olive oil. Toss/stir well. Set aside to let mingle.
Chop fresh cilantro and add. Salt and pepper to taste and stir again.
Taste and tweek if needed. You may want more lemon and oil. I find adding less first time around easiest because then you can get it just right after adding the cilantro, salt and pepper.
Best refrigerated for a bit to let flavors mingle. Mmmmmmm!
I know that there are many ways to make this salad in Turkey but this one is hard to beat! I am open to comparing please add your versions!

Huckleberry season
Yesterday I took a road trip on the Mountain Loop Hwy in NW WA. I am a forager and to my delight, I found red and purple huckleberries!! I thought it might be a little early. I also found tiny RIPE alpine strawberries! SCORE! The strawberries went right into my mouth. I got home with a full quart bag that was a little heavy on the red berry because I ate so many purple ones while picking! 😁
This afternoon I washed and picked over the fruit then concocted a huckleberry infused Titos cocktail. Was a perfect drink while preparing my little huckleberry tart.
I get so excited when I score foraging what I went out for. The little, super sweet strawberries were a yummy bonus too!

Read this on CNN. He was the pilot and only person in his plane. It collided midair with another plane with 6 passengers (pilot, guide and 4 twenty something tourists from SC).
Tragic accident for sure!... but what I found interesting was an article from Ballotpedia on his recent recall because he was working with Democrats.
