More than 90 million Americans have cast general election ballots so far

(CNN)More than 90 million Americans have voted so far with three days left until Election Day, as a majority of states are reporting record early voting turnout in the 2020 election.

These votes represent almost 43% of registered voters nationwide, according to a survey of election officials in all 50 states and Washington, DC, by CNN, Edison Research, and Catalist.   

Fourteen states have already seen more than half of their registered voters cast ballots ahead of November 3.

Nationwide, the more than 90 million ballots already cast represent about 66% -- almost two-thirds -- of the more than 136.5 million ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election.

McGrath requests COVID tests ahead of debate with McConnell

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Days before what could be her only face-to-face showdown with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Democratic challenger Amy McGrath said Friday that anyone attending their debate should be tested for COVID-19.

McGrath made the request in a letter to WKYT, the Lexington TV station where she and the Republican senator are scheduled to debate Monday evening. McGrath said the test results should be provided to the station ahead of time to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

“Sen. McConnell has a duty to Kentuckians to keep them safe and set an example on following CDC guidelines,” she said in a statement.

When asked recently whether he’s undergone COVID tests, McConnell has consistently said he’s following CDC guidelines. His campaign responded to McGrath’s request by pointing to a recent statement from the senator: “I’m unaware where Amy McGrath went to medical school, but I take my health care advice from my doctor, not my political opponent.”

Report: Trump Didn't Disclose First Positive Coronavirus Test During Fox Interview

President Donald Trump had already been notified he tested positive for coronavirus by the time he appeared on Fox News for an interview Thursday night, but he didn’t disclose that at the time, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal.

During an interview with Sean Hannity, Trump merely confirmed one of his aides, Hope Hicks, had been diagnosed with coronavirus. He said he wouldn’t receive his results until later that night or the following morning. WSJ reports Trump had already received a positive coronavirus test by the time he appeared on Hannity’s show, and the positive test he announced early Friday morning was the second he’d taken.

Trump was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday to receive treatment for coronavirus symptoms and endured what White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows called a “very concerning” period. In the time since, his administration has tried to patch together a timeline of his infection that doesn’t depict Trump wantonly spreading a potentially deadly disease at events he attended ― frequently maskless ― throughout the week, including the presidential debate on Tuesday. The desperate, clumsy effort by Trump administration officials to spin a story favorable to Trump has revealed a cover-up in realtime and added more questions to a national discussion about the president’s health.

On Sunday, the physician in charge of Trump’s treatment, Dr. Sean Conley, admitted he wasn’t transparent with reporters on Saturday when he refused to answer whether Trump needed supplemental oxygen. Conley dodged the question multiple times when asked on Saturday, and his excuse on Sunday was that he was “trying to reflect the upbeat attitude of the team [and] the president over the course of his illness.”
