I Am in Awe of Mueller's Epic Troll of The Republicans. It's Like a Reality Show Reveal!!!!

Well, since Friday's announcement we've seen Roger Stone, Sean Hannity, and Donald Trump in complete meltdown mode.

We've watched the entire right go full on batshit crazy demanding HRC's arrest.

And now this:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/grand-jury-approves-first-charges-mueller-s-russia-probe-report-n815246

Here's a delicious thought: Mueller is under absolutely no obligation to inform the DOJ as to how the grand jury voted. Sessions has no right to call him to question him. So it's entirely possible Sessions and Trump find out when we do. Guess who's up right now, watching six screens of tv? It's been 19 hours since he last tweeted.

It's like a reality show, managed perfectly for greatest exposure. My hat is off to Mr. Mueller.

Nina Turner/Our Revolution Repeats Right Wing Uranium Spin:

Nina Turner Repeats Right Wing Spin: Russians 'Control 20 Percent Of Our Uranium Extraction!'
By Karoli Kuns
10/29/17 1:53pm

It's really bad form for someone from Our Revolution to choose to validate a groundless, factless, baseless right wing conspiracy theory by putting a lefty spin on it and tossing it into the Sunday show universe the way Nina Turner did today.

Really bad form. In the video above, Turner echoes the right-wing, but perhaps in a more careful way.

SNIP...

"I mean, the fact that a Russian company now owns 20 percent -- or controls 20 percent of our uranium extraction, and has de facto and de jure exercise. They can control whether or not it's put -- you know, extracted or not extracted," she said.

That bolded statement is no different than what the wingers are saying. Without uttering the words, Nina Turner just repeated the crux of the right-wing fever swamp's claim: That Hillary Clinton sold (or allowed to be sold) 20 PERCENT OF OUR URANIUM.

Who needs Sean Hannity when we can have Nina Turner repeat it on a national cable television Sunday show?

HBO is paying Halperin to Mansplain the '16 Election. UPDATED

Political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann are writing a third installment in their best-selling Game Change series, this one about the 2016 presidential election, and HBO Films has acquired rights for a mini-series adaptation.

The book will tell the behind-the-scenes story of how Donald Trump triumphed over Hillary Clinton to win the presidency, Penguin Press announced Thursday. Halperin and Heilemann were on the road covering the campaign for their Showtime series, The Circus. (A new season premieres on March 19.)

The original Game Change, which peeled back the curtain on the 2008 race between Barack Obama and John McCain (with Sarah Palin in a major co-starring role), hit No. 3 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list in 2010. Double Down: Game Change 2012 followed and reached No. 13 in 2013.

The new Game Change book (no official title yet) is slated for early 2018, with the mini-series to follow.

Dr. Jane Sanders to speak on US Election on Thursday night.

Born in Brooklyn to Irish parents, Dr. Jane O’Meara Sanders is a founding member of the Sanders Institute, a fellowship comprised of leaders dedicated to transforming democracy through the research, education, outreach and advancement of bold, progressive ideas and values. Dr. O’Meara Sanders was also at the centre of the 2016 American presidential election as senior political advisor to, and wife of, Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders.

In conversation with Joseph O’Connor, award winning novelist and Frank McCourt Chair of Creative Writing in UL, Dr. O’Meara Sanders will discuss the 2016 Presidential election, the Sanders campaign and Institute, the Republican and Democratic rivals faced, and the current political climate in America. She will discuss as well her own Irish heritage, her upbringing in 1950’s Brooklyn in an Irish-American home, and the influence of Irish art, music and literature on her life. Finally, she will tell her and Bernie Sanders’ shared story, having grown up just blocks from each other in Brooklyn, but who first met decades later as political candidate and activist in Vermont.

Chelsea Manning Has No Explanation for Endangering Afghan Civilians

Yesterday, Chelsea Manning appeared at the New Yorker Festival. She could not, or would not answer for her decision to leak the names of Afghani civilians who helped overthrow the Taliban.

But she really, really didn't want to talk about WikiLeaks.

"I'm not going to have this debate right now," Manning snapped, after The New Yorker's Larissa MacFarquhar asked about WikiLeaks' decision not to redact the names of Afghan civilians mentioned in the documents Manning had leaked to the organization in 2010.

Her agitation seemed misplaced; no one had challenged her to a debate, and Wikileaks was central to the story many had paid money to hear her tell. But she insisted, upon further questioning from MacFarquhar about how and why she decided on WikiLeaks, that she "hadn't had time to think about these questions."

"I've just been fighting for my life over the past seven years," she said.

The lack of redaction has been decried by human rights groups:

Then there is the matter of redaction. After the Manning cache came in, WikiLeaks partnered with a number of “legacy” newspapers, including The New York Times and The Guardian, to bring the material out into the world. While initially going along with those publications’ policies of removing identifying information that could put innocent people in harm’s way and excluding material that could not be verified, Assange soon balked. According to the Guardian journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding in WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy, their 2011 postmortem of their contentious collaboration with Assange on the so-called Afghan war logs—the portion of the Manning leaks concerning the conflict in Afghanistan—the WikiLeaks founder was unmoved by entreaties to scrub the files of anything that could point to Afghan villagers who might have had any contact with American troops. He considered such editorial intervention to “contaminate the evidence.”

“Well they’re informants. So, if they get killed, they’ve got it coming to them. They deserve it,” Leigh and Harding report Assange saying to a group of international journalists. And while Assange has denied making these comments, WikiLeaks released troves of material in which the names of Afghan civilians had not been redacted, an action that led Amnesty International, the Open Society Institute, the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict, and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission to issue a joint rebuke. The group Reporters Without Borders also criticized WikiLeaks for its “incredible irresponsibility” in not removing the names. This was in 2010, not long after Poitras approached Assange about making a film.

Tell Me Again Why Gun Manufacturers Cannot Be Sued For Their Defective Products?

Gun experts now agree that the Vegas shooter used a fully automatic weapon.

http://abc7ny.com/gun-experts-vegas-shooter-used-fully-automatic-weapon/2479938/

Now, fully automatic weapons are illegal. But you can buy a semi-auto, and an inexpensive kit, and make a gun fully auto.

https://www.wired.com/story/las-vegas-shooting-automatic-rifle/

Now, it seems to me that if you are manufacturing an item, any item, and you know that there is a cheap way to disable the safety features, shouldn't you be held accountable for not attempting to make a better product?

Let's take baby formula. What if you, as a manufacturer, found out there was an incredible resale market of expired baby formula? WHat if you realized that all people had to do was remove an easily peelable label and that would take care of the expiration date?

Let's say you find out that babies are dying because the expired formula is depleted of nutrition.

Let's say you do some research and you find out that you can fix the problem by changing your manufacturing process, but it will eat into your profits.

And let's say you do absolutely nothing until parents of these children sue your ass off for damages, and to get you to make a better product?

That sounds like the American Way to me. PUNISH CORPORATIONS who refuse to the right thing. If not through legislation, then through the EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER LAW afforded by the judiciary.
