I got that Poland wants an American base there.
When I read the headline, I was trying to figure out why Poland wants a military base in America.
I do.
I had just been discharged from the army. June 8th, 1967 was my 24th birthday. I did on land what they were doing on the USS Liberty. The reason for the attack is Israeli thought there were Hebrew linguists onboard. All the linguists were Russian linguists. They didn't want the US to know that they were attacking the Golan Heights. How do I know? The people on the USS Liberty worked for the same people I did and I still had friends working there.

After all, they only murdered 34 Marines and Sailors and wounded 171 more with their premeditated attacks on the USS Liberty. They wanted to make sure that the spy ship under the command of The National Security Agency would not pick up any chatter about their attack on the Golan Heights. Unfortunately they were working with faulty intel. There were not any Hebrew linguists on her. Only Russian linguists.
