Ferrets are Cool's Journalre: overseas trip for Michigan football team
I would appreciate if anyone could help me to understand how Harbaugh (or any coach) gets away with taking his athletes on an expense paid vacation overseas. The NCAA says the following:
NCAA rules prevent student-athletes from receiving money, transportation, or any extra benefit or expense allowance not authorized by the NCAA legislation. This includes benefits from an agent or any agreement to have an agent market the players athletic ability or reputation in that sport.
The NCAA Division I Manual defines an extra benefit as any special arrangement by an institutional employee or a representative of the institution's athletics interests to provide a student-athlete or their relatives/friends a benefit not expressly authorized by NCAA legislation.
However, a general rule under the NCAA states that the receipt of a benefit by student-athletes is not a violation of NCAA rules if it is demonstrated that the same benefit is generally available to the institutions students.
These trips are not "generally available" to all students so why is the football team allowed this indulgence?
Any ideas?
Sometimes there is "justice"
"Francisco "El Bandido" Vargas took down "Lightning" Rod Salka on Thursday night in six rounds after Salka's corner threw in the towel.
While Vargas' combinations of body blows were highlight-worthy alone, the fight gained a lot of extra attention on social media when viewers noticed that Salka had taken to the ring in trunks that had "America 1st" written across the top and with a design depicting a wall.
The pro-Trump trunks were blatant, and noteworthy given that Salka's opponent Vargas was Mexican. Salka was defeated handily by Vargas, including a huge knockdown in the fifth round that left Salka dazed in the corner before getting up to beat the referee's count."

Anyone want to talk about Cohen taking the 5th instead of dragging down
Joy?
What does this mean to the case? Guesses?
What is your take on this interview with McDougal's lawyer?
He kept saying it was his biggest victory ever. Didn't sound like much of a victory to me.
Your thoughts?
There are a lot of reasons that the PGIC needs to be in prison....
not the least of which is the fact that he and his "family" now have national secrets that could be used in nefarious ways for decades to come.
(the PGIC "and" his family) they are all complicit
It all makes Perfect Sense
I would guess that a LOT of repug Senators are saying
or thinking WTF. How the FUCK are we going to handle this shit! Or, OMFG, what have we unleashed. I bet few will sleep good tonite. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
