Semion Mogilevich..1998 Article from Village Voice

https://www.villagevoice.com/1998/05/26/the-most-dangerous-mobster-in-the-world/

THIS is who Putin works for.
THIS is who Manafort/Trump & the global crime syndicate works for.
THIS is who the US Govt succumbed to in 2016.
THiS I believe is who Mueller is after.

1998 The Village Voice

The Most Dangerous Mobster in the World
by ROBERT I. FRIEDMAN

MAY 26, 1998
In two posh villas outside the small town of Ricany, near Prague, one of the most dreaded mob families in the world savagely murders its terrified victims.
The mob’s young enforcers, trained by veterans of the Afghanistan war, are infamous for their extreme brutality.
Their quarry, usually businessmen who have balked at extortion demands, are repeatedly stabbed and tortured, then mutilated before they are butchered.
The carnage is so hideous that it has scared the daylights out of competing crime groups in the area.

The torture chambers are run by what international police officials call the Red Mafia, a notorious Russian mob family that in only six years has become a nefarious global crime cartel. Based in Budapest, it has key centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Southern California, and as far away as New Zealand.

The enigmatic leader of the Red Mafia is a 52-year-old Ukrainian-born Jew named Semion Mogilevich
.
He is a shadowy figure known as the ”Brainy Don”–he holds an economics degree from the University of Lvov–and until now, he has never been exposed by the media.

But the Voice has obtained hundreds of pages of classified FBI and Israeli intelligence documents from August 1996, and these documents–as well as recent interviews with a key criminal associate and with dozens of law enforcement sources here and abroad–describe him as someone who has become a grave threat to the stability of Israel and Eastern Europe.

He’s the most powerful mobster in the world,” crows Monya Elson, who is listed in classified documents as one of Mogilevich’s closest associates and partners in prostitution and money laundering rings.
The Brighton Beachbased Elson, who once led a pack of thugs and killers known as Monya’s Brigada, is currently in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan awaiting trial for three murders and numerous extortions.

Interesting Must-Read

Trump's long time involvement with Putin, his nefarious criminal businesses in the US, NY & abroad, places him squarely in the criminal family of Semion Mogilevich.

Makes you wonder what makes the wars continue, the vast army of those who work on Mogilevich's behalf for acquiring territory, poperty, weapons sales, prostitution, human trafficking, drug distribution, money laundering & the murder, torture & mayhen of thuggery we hear as daily news isn't directly related & dictated by this one man's criminal empire.
Think of the major players within Trump's world alone, that we have come to know.
Imagine what Mueller, the FBI, our Intel & the Intel of our global allies must know & the threat they have held at bay over the years, as to Simeon Mogilevich's run on the world governments.

And to think Donald Trump holds all the power of the US President.

David Blaszczak, a DC consultant gave hedge funds advance word on Medicare reimbursement/Convicted

From the Bloomberg Article:

https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2018-05-03/d-c-consultant-among-four-guilty-in-political-intelligence-case?__twitter_impression=true

A jury’s verdict sent a warning to Washington’s political intelligence industry and funds that rely on it: Trading on government secrets is as risky as using insider corporate information.

David Blaszczak, a Washington consultant who gave hedge funds advance word on Medicare reimbursement rates, was convicted Thursday of stealing secrets from the government and insider trading.
A federal jury found that he provided hedge fund clients with tips he learned from ex-colleagues still in the government.

Blaszczak, who worked as a consultant after leaving the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was among four defendants found guilty in Manhattan federal court.
Christopher Worrall, Blaszczak’s friend and alleged source inside CMS, was also convicted, as were Robert Olan and Theodore Huber, two partners at Deerfield Management.

“We’d kill it working togethe[r],” Blaszczak wrote in a text message to Worrall. “You’re like a drunk whore to me,” Worrall replied. “Hard to resist.”

Ultimately, Worrall didn’t join Blaszczak’s firm
, but used such job offers to leverage a promotion at CMS, according to the government.

SNIP
The government’s star witness, Jordan Fogel, a former Deerfield partner who pleaded guilty in a bid for leniency, testified that Deerfield used Blaszczak to gain an illegal “edge,” allowing it to trade ahead of government announcements.

Fogel told jurors that Blaszczak passed along frequent updates as CMS considered the reimbursement changes, information that was often at odds with public expectations.

SNIP
Defense lawyers also sought to convince jurors that Washington’s information ecosystem operates differently than Wall Street’s, with rumors flowing freely and former staffers hired into K Street lobbying shops for their connections and expertise.

SNIP
Deerfield is the second fund with ties to Blaszczak to find itself under U.S. scrutiny. Last year, in the trial of a former credit portfolio manager at Visium Asset Management,
Blaszczak’s name surfaced as the source of insider tips that were used by that firm to shape strategy.

Blaszczak was also convicted Thursday of passing inside information to Christopher Plaford, a former Visium portfolio manager, in a transaction that didn’t involve any of the other three trial defendants. Plaford pleaded guilty and testified last year in the trial of former Visium executive Stefan Lumiere, who was convicted of mismarking bonds. Plaford also testified as a prosecution witness against Blaszczak.

The case is U.S. v. Blaszczak, 17-cr-00357, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).

Blaszczak better be sent away for life. No more gentle pat on the wrist for white collar criminals

THURSDAY/Mueller Seeks 70 Blank Subpoenas in Manafort Case

This whole twitter thread is a hoot!

https://www.courthousenews.com/mueller-seeks-70-blank-subpoenas-in-manafort-case/

CN) – Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday filed a request for 70 blank subpoenas in the Virginia court presiding over one of two criminal proceedings involving former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The two-page filing doesn’t offer much in the way of details, but each subpoena orders the recipient to appear at the federal courthouse in Alexandria on July 10 at 10 a.m. to testify at Manafort’s trial on charges stemming from Mueller’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Although Manafort faces no charges related to the Trump campaign, he is accused in cases filed both in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, D.C. of hiding the work he did for and the money he made from a Russia-friendly political party in Ukraine and former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.

In Virginia, he is also accused of concealing foreign bank accounts, falsifying his income taxes and failing to report foreign bank accounts.

In Washington, Manafort faces counts of conspiracy to launder more than $30 million, making false statements, failing to follow lobbying disclosure laws and working as an unregistered foreign agent.

The request comes one day before Manafort is expected to appear in a Virginia federal court where his attorney, Kevin Downing, will make a case for dropping of several counts against his client.

In a filing Monday night, Downing requested a hearing to air his concerns that Manafort’s chances at a fair trial have been spoiled thanks to media reports featuring leaks from anonymous government officials.

This story is developing …

@MrFelt
I think we'll see several names we recognize and a bunch that we don't, some won't be interesting at all (for instance, storage facility owner/manager might be one-person will have to testify RE: renting a unit to PM,maybe whether he ever saw him there, etc.).

Replying to @ericgarland
The courthouse is gonna be standing room only!

each subpoena orders the recipient to appear at the federal courthouse in Alexandria on July 10 at 10 a.m. to testify at Manafort’s trial”

I'm wondering how many of those are human witnessess, or technical experts, or custodians of records who can supply the documents in lieu of appearing.
Important distinction because that article seems to imply.

Giuliani claims that "Trump had a right to be notified of the wiretap" Preet & Tribe say "NOPE"

@PreetBharara

Wiretaps are difficult to get. Applications require multiple layers of review, including by career lawyers in Washington, plus approval by a district court judge (not magistrate). Also they signify proof of an ongoing crime. And you don't tap a President's attorney lightly.

Laurence Tribe
@tribelaw
To get a warrant to wiretap Michael Cohen’s phone conversations, the FBI had to comply with highly stringent rules and standards laid down by SCOTUS in Katz v. US, 389 U.S. 347 (1967), in an opinion I helped Justice Stewart draft for the Court as his law clerk.
Pretty much this. 'Feds wiring tapping' headline overlooks the procedural due process hurdles, 4th and 14th amendment protections of the suspect, the Government has to circumvent in order to have this type of warrant issued by the Court.

Asha Rangappa
@AshaRangappa_
This is a big deal. Criminal wiretaps (known as Title IIIs, not FISAs) are difficult to get. You have to show a court that your intercepts will uncover evidence of a crime that you cannot obtain through less intrusive means.

@PuestoLoco Was Cohen told to destroy evidence? That would line up with the timing of the raid after they tapped his phones. A real kicker would be if someone from the WH told him to destroy the evidence, but that would be a Cohen Bros movie and not real life, right?

Facts Do Matter

@WilDonnelly

Every time the FBI obtains a warrant to wiretap a Russian spy or a criminal, somehow someone from the Trump campaign or the Trump administration end up on the phone with them. I'm sure it is all just a huge coincidence

One of the hallmarks of narcissism is thinking you're smarter than everyone else. Ask a social worker or psychologist what brings down a narcissist and they'll tell you "himself."

Hillary Steps up the Onward Together Campaign to Fundraise for It's Affiliated Groups

https://still4hill.com/2018/05/02/email-from-hillary-clinton-what-we-did-on-monday/

Email from Hillary Clinton & ONWARD TOGETHER:

"On Monday, leaders from every group that Onward Together partners with met for our first-ever Onward Together convening.

I was thrilled to bring them together with some of my dearest friends and most trusted advisors to share and learn from each other, and to announce the newest round of grants funded by this team. You made that possible — thank you.

I’ve always been proud to work with these groups, but I was moved to see what they accomplished together — in thoughtful conversations about the obstacles they’re facing and in the plans they made to take on the next few months.

The Alliance for Youth Action, the Arena, the Collective PAC, Color of Change, Emerge America, Indivisible, iVote, Latino Victory, Run for Something, Swing Left, and Voto Latino all have amazing plans for 2018.

They’re taking on everything from the midterm elections to restrictive voting laws to the lack of diversity in our elected officials, and they’re doing so in smart, inventive ways.
I’m so excited to be a part of their work.

As we head into our second year, I’m asking you to renew your commitment to partnering with these groups and finding new groups to support by making a contribution
I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have you with me, fighting for the values we share.

Thank you, and onward!

Hillary
"

Citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy. In recent months, we've seen what's possible when people come together to resist bullying, hate, falsehoods, and divisiveness, and stand up for a fairer, more inclusive America.

From the Women's March to airports where communities are welcoming immigrants and refugees to town hall meetings in every community, Americans are speaking up and speaking out like never before.

The challenges we face as a country are real. But there's no telling what we can achieve if we approach the fights ahead with the passion and determination we feel today, and bring that energy into 2017, 2018, 2020, and beyond.

Onward!
