SW FL teachers leaving in droves. Warn of bigger teacher shortages. Salary is the issue!

Once again, it’s simply unaffordable to teach! Do not do it!!

There are conservatives who literally say they must keep teaching salaries low so that unions, who draw from salaries, can’t make money either!

This is infuriating! Stay away from education as a career!!!

Don’t do it. That’s what some teachers are ready to tell students looking to become educators.

WINK News sat down with a panel of five teachers who want to tell the public why they think we have a teacher shortage.

Last year, the School District of Lee County lost 24.9 percent of its teachers according to their website. Charlotte County says they lost 18.71 percent and Collier County 10.71 percent.

Teacher crisis is worse than we thought. And it's driven by low wages (DUH!)

America’s teachers are paid poorly compared to other college graduates, a new study details — and that’s driving a “large and growing” teacher shortage that’s approaching a tipping point.

As a wave of disenchanted teachers take to the streets in protest around the country, a new report by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) highlights a dearth of qualified educators in schools.

Another FL teacher quits the 'toxic profession'.

If you are in college and plan to teach here’s some advice - DON’T!

If you’d like to move to Florida to teach the advice is the same!

It is out of control how bad things have become in this state for teachers, including the fact that the legislature just created a massive expansion of vouchers for private schools.

We are now 46th in average teacher salary. Think about that for a minute.

Will Democrats EVER be able to flip the legislature and governor's mansion?

I am a FL native and I’m shocked by the state GOP. It thwarts the will of the people whenever it can.

We’ve had 20 consecutive years of GOP rule in Tallahassee and I’m tired of it.

They hate public education, the environment, organized labor, immigration, sensible gun laws, citizen initiatives, and just about anything else that is part of a democracy.

When will the state party figure out how to win? This is demoralizing!

FL legislature expands vouchers. Public dollars going to Christian schools. Please comment.

This link is to the right wing blog that is the propaganda mouthpiece for vouchers. Please take a minute and comment on how ridiculous it is for public dollars to pay for private education.

Oh, and this is more evidence that FL hates its public schools and no one should teach here!
