Advisers to former Vice President Joe Biden have reportedly floated the idea of him teaming up with a younger running mate if he ran for president in 2020, including potentially Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas).

The Associated Press, citing people speaking on the condition of anonymity, reported the scenario Friday while noting that current and past advisers have discussed having Biden team up with a younger running mate to alleviate concerns about his age.

Biden would be 77 years old on Election Day in 2020 and would be the oldest president ever elected if he won. He has said he is considering launching another White House bid to take on Trump in two years, and is expected to face a crowded Democratic field.

There are a bunch of prospective Dem candidates that would make a Great President. But they will have a fight to win the nomination with such a large field wanting to run (20+) That kind of fight would likely cause some splits in the Dem Party. . With Biden at the top of ticket a bunch of those potential candidates would drop out and support Biden. Beto on the ticket would eliminate concerns about Biden's age and add some vigor and excitement to the ticket. If Biden acknowledges the quality of those wanting to run and announce he would want those new faces in his cabinet and other high government positions we would go into the 2020 campaign as a united party.

I agree with what Biden said when he said he was the most qualified person in the country to be President. He has the experience to know how to govern. He would be mentoring and teaching all those new faces that he brought into his administration. The Democratic Party would be stronger in the years ahead.
