Putin approves Russian use of Middle East fighters against Ukraine
Source: The Guardian
Vladimir Putin has given the green light for up to 16,000 volunteers from the Middle East to be deployed alongside Russian-backed rebels fighting in Ukraine, doubling down on an invasion that the west says has been losing momentum.
The move, just over two weeks after Putin ordered the invasion, allows Russia to deploy battle-hardened mercenaries from conflicts such as Syria without risking additional Russian military casualties.
At a meeting of Russias security council, the defence minister, Sergei Shoigu, said there were 16,000 volunteers in the Middle East who were ready to fight alongside Russian-backed forces in the breakaway Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.
Putin said: If you see that there are these people who want of their own accord, not for money, to come to help the people living in Donbas, then we need to give them what they want and help them get to the conflict zone.

What do young Russians think of Putin, today (Stills/Video)
Interviews conducted after The Don't Mention The War Law.
Stills from a negative answer -

Ukraine must win the war.
This is pretty obvious, but if Vladimir is stopped/bogged down/loses Ukraine, he will not move on to taking Moldova / Georgia & (shudder) the Baltic States. If the West wins this one, the first 21st century war in Europe is over. In WWII terms, 2014 was the Sudetenland war. 2022 is the Czech Republic. Winning the war in Ukraine will bury Putin's fantasies of empire. And if history is a guide, he is finished - (hey Vlady, what happened to Nikki?)
So why fight / win the war in Ukraine? A: To stop Putin in his tracks ( "know wot I mean" )
Riddle Me This: 'Blinken says NATO countries have "green light" to send fighter jets to Ukraine'
Blinken says NATO countries have "green light" to send fighter jets to Ukraine"That gets a green-light," Blinken said in an interview with "Face the Nation" when asked whether the Polish government, a member of NATO, could send fighter planes to Ukraine. "In fact, we're talking with our Polish friends right now about what we might be able to do to backfill their needs if in fact they choose to provide these fighter jets to the Ukrainians. What can we do? How can we help to make sure that they get something to backfill the planes that they are handing over to the Ukrainians?"
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-russia-nato-fighter-jets-antony-blinken-face-the-nation/
But transferring the planes via Ramstein Air Base is not acceptable because that would mean the U.S was sending fighter planes to Ukraine, and that does not have a green light because the U.S. in not a NATO member?
But wait, there's more. After Blinken made his statement to the world, "A White House spokesperson told CBS News the Biden administration is evaluating the capabilities it could provide to backfill jets to Poland if it decided to transfer planes to Ukraine but noted there are several questions that arise from a decision to do so, including how the jets could be transferred from Poland to Ukraine. "
Guess those questions have not been answered.
President Zelenskyy invokes Winston Churchill: 'We will not give up, and we will not lose'.
Address to the UK House of Commons, March 8, 2022
We will not give up, and we will not lose. We will fight to the end in the sea, in the air. We will fight for our land, whatever the costs. We will fight in the forests, in the fields, on the shores, in the streets.
Zelenskiy invokes Churchill as he calls on UK to do more to help Ukraine
In an unprecedented and emotional speech broadcast live to the House of Commons, Volodymyr Zelenskiy channelled Churchill when he told a packed chamber: We will continue fighting for our land, whatever the cost. We will fight in the forests, the fields, the shores and in the streets.
Ukraine will not lose to Russia, he vowed. Zelenskiy, who received long ovations from MPs before and after his speech, also cited Shakespeare to describe the plight of his country under Russian invasion.
The question for us now is to be or not to be, he said, according to a translation of his speech, which was delivered in Ukrainian and broadcast live from Kyiv.Oh no, this Shakespearean question. For 13 days this question could have been asked but now I can give you a definitive answer. Its definitely yes, to be.
And I would like to remind you the words that the United Kingdom has already heard, which are important again. We will not give up and we will not lose.

'Sent As Cannon Fodder': Locals Confront Russian Governor Over 'Deceived' Soldiers In Ukraine
A Russian governor in Siberia was confronted by angry citizens who accused the government of "deceiving" young men before deploying them as "cannon fodder" in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. ...
The meeting in a gymnasium at the base for OMON riot police in Novokuznetsk comes amid the Kremlin's rapidly escalating efforts to control information about its war in Ukraine, including a fast-tracked law that allows for up to 15 years in prison for those convicted of spreading "false news" about the Russian military.
As Tsivilyov addressed the gathering, a woman yelled that everyone was "deceived" about the deployments to Ukraine.
"No one has lied to anyone," Tsivilyov replied.
Another woman in the audience responded: "They were sent as cannon fodder."
