ON March 29, Ukraine awarded a medal of bravery to a soldier, originally feared to be dead, who told a Russian warship to go f*** yourself before the Snake Island he was defending was attacked.
Roman Hrybov, one of the Ukrainian soldiers defending the tiny Snake Island in the Black Sea, was not killed in the attack, which occurred on the first day of Russias invasion of Ukraine, but was captured by Russian forces along with the rest of his comrades.
He was also the soldier alleged to have yelled the now infamous war line.
In videos posted on social media at the time, audio apparently described a Russian warship approaching the island and asking the border guards to surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary victims, otherwise, youll be bombed.

For the record - this was Will Smith's reaction to the GI Jane joke
What followed afterwards was a reaction to something else - perhaps his wife being upset that he was laughing - who knows, but it was not the joke.

Russian forces are now shelling Mariupol from the sea, Pentagon official says
Source: Washington Post
Russian forces have started shelling Mariupol from the sea, according to a senior Pentagon official a new development in the continued attacks on the city thats seen some of the worst bombardment since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine.
There were up to seven Russian warships in the Sea of Azov, according to a count from the official, who added that the city is an anchor for the Russian effort to over take the region from Ukrainian forces. The development comes as the invasion nears the one-month mark, and as British defense officials say Russian forces are making limited progress in other areas with most forces largely stalled in place.
President Biden, who is traveling to Belgium and Poland this week, has warned that Russias tactics may get even more aggressive, as heavy air and artillery bombardments continued to pummel several Ukrainian cities, destroying infrastructure and terrorizing civilians. The Kremlins spokesperson refused to rule out the possibility that Russia would use nuclear weapons in the war, telling CNN that Moscow would consider it in the event of an existential threat for our country, without elaborating on what that might be.
As fighting continues, the Ukrainian military also said it has retaken the town of Makariv, adding that it has expelled Russian forces from the strategically important town nearly 40 miles west of the capital of Kyiv.
