Hamilton Fish - Any Maddow Ultra listeners out there?

For those of you who listened to Rachel Maddow's podcast, Ultra, you will be familiar with the allegations that Hamilton Fish's congressional office was allegedly caught up in the franking of Nazi propaganda material. I'm not going to retell the podcast here, but for those of you who are familiar, I have a question for you.

Knowing what you know, would you keep or change the name of a library that bears his name (Hamilton Fish (HF) the Congressman; not the other HFs related to him) ? He funded a library in the 80s along with his wife, Alice Curtis Desmond (it was apparently mostly her money (and they later divorced!)). The library is undergoing a monthslong name review (as a result of the Ultra podcast shining a light on HF) and will soon make the decision. My sense is that the library board views the Fish family as untouchable given their long lineage and contributions to American society going way way back. There are many good names that a library can have, none of which need to be a person's name.

As you can imagine, the Fish family descendants have descended, writing many letters to the local paper in support of keeping the name. Many of the residents are also supportive of the name. Many have also voiced against although I think many are afraid to say anything as these are difficult times. Mostly those in support feel one should look at the totality of a person's life and contributions. Congressman Rangel, retired, of NewYork, even wrote a letter in support, owing to HF's contributions in leading the first all black regiment in WWII as Captain.

The library is conducting a review, having formed a special committee for this purpose. Interestingly, members of the Fish family sit on the library board, including the current Ham Fish. It remains to be seen whether any current Fish family members will recuse themselves from a board vote but maybe they will. Be interesting to see how an ethics committee might weigh in on the right thing to do. I doubt there is an ethics committee.

Anyway, for those informed about Ultra, and the mentions of Fish and his office, what would you do?
