The EUs military aid package may include supplying fighter jets for the Ukrainian air force, Borrell said. Borrell said the EU has already had discussions with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba about the type of jets the Ukrainian military needs and there are member states that are able to supply them.

For comparison, Russia lost 15,000 troops in ten years in Afghanistan. They are already more than 1/5 of the way to that number in Ukraine, and it hasn't been a week.

Former Georgia president on lessons from Russia's invasion of Georgia
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/02/24/ex-georgia-president-saakashvili-lessons-georgia-2008-invasion-ukraine/Democracy Dies in Darkness
In August 2008, as Russian tanks advanced through Georgias sovereign territory and headed toward the capital, Tbilisi, President George W. Bush announced that he was mounting a U.S. military airlift to Georgia under the banner of humanitarian assistance. Those U.S. Air Force planes, once on the ground in Tbilisi, never took off again. If Vladimir Putin wanted to take Tbilisi, he was going to have to go through the United States. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to Tbilisi to help secure a truce. This mix of military pressure and diplomacy worked. Putin halted his advance.

I switched my vote after I saw that Jackson's court issued an early ruling similar to what Kavanaugh's did shortly before the announcement.
Good job, DU! (on SCOTUS prediction)
From this post yesterday:
Who do you predict Biden picked for the Supreme Court?
I hope it is Leondra Kruger if for no other reason but her age. But Childs seems to be the safest pick for Senate confirmation.

His net approval seems to have went from about -12% to -10%. Still not good, but I suspect the Russia/ Ukraine situation may be helping him, as the GOP continues to be divided on whether to support Russia over clear US interests as an invasion continues.

Stop calling it "The Ukraine"
The country is called "Ukraine," not "the Ukraine"
Thanks

I disagree a lot with many folks here. But one thing is for certain
...which I will never take for granted: We generally live in the same reality. Verifiably false claims are few and far between here. Just wanted to say how I truly appreciate it, and how much of a breath of fresh air it can be in a world where misinformation has become more readily available than bubble gum.
