Actor Jaleel White is joining the growing list of celebrities who have launched a cannabis brand.
White, known for playing Steve Urkel on the 1990s sitcom "Family Matters," is partnering with 710 Labs on his new line, itsPurpl. It's set to launch in California on April 20, or 4/20, and includes variants of the strain Purple Urkle.
White said the project comes after 20 years of hearing about his fictional TV character displayed on cannabis products. He wrote on the new brand's website that he met his eventual business partner on a flight to Oakland in 2018.
"Anyone who knows me personally as Jaleel White, knows I am an ardent seeker of curated adventures, big laughs, and excellent food," White wrote. "All three of these interests are enormously enhanced by top shelf cannabis."
He said he also hopes to debunk stereotypes associated with cannabis and celebrate its medical breakthroughs.
"Burrowing my way into an industry not known for diversity or inclusion has been both challenging and rewarding," White said.

Testimony on Chauvin's possible Depraved indifference or possible active malice?
Didn't the witness Donald Williams, the wrestler and MMA competitor, testify that he'd called out Chauvin that he'd called out that Chauvin was using a potentially lethal hold, a 'Blood Choke. And Chauvin had met his eyes, expression unchanged the seemingly very deliberately pressed down harder.

I've seen reporting about red states having to throw away lots of vaccine dosages because they open a crate and nobody comes to get them.
Several have taken of them have taken to allowing walk-ins just so the vaccine doesn't go to waste. For examples, some friends that live there have confirmed that Louisiana was like that

By Nicole Acevedo
A Miami-area woman was charged in federal court with making threats to kill Vice President Kamala Harris in a series of videos she sent to her husband in prison, authorities said.
Niviane Petit Phelps, 39, sent five 30-second videos and two photographs to her husband back in February through a service known as "JPay," which is used to share media between incarcerated and non-incarcerated individuals, according to a Secret Service complaint.
"The videos generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others," authorities said. "However, in those videos, Phelps also made statements about killing Vice President Harris."
In one video from Feb. 13, Phelps said that Harris was "going to die" after "someone paid me $53,000 just to f--- you up," according to the complaint. In another from Feb. 14, Phelps claimed she was going to a gun range "until you f------ leave the chair," officials said. And in a video from Feb. 18, she said Harris would die in 50 days, according to the complaint.
Authorities said a photo from Feb. 20 showed Phelps at a shooting range smiling while holding a pistol next to a target containing bullet holes. Two days later, she applied for a concealed weapons permit, according to the complaint. A second photo sent to Phelps' husband depicted a "juvenile male, later determined to be Phelps' son, holding a pistol and a target," authorities said.

Daunte Wright's warrant and Kimberly Potter's background
When his shooting was 1st reported and most of the times I've encountered the story since, Mr. Wright's warrant was for failure to report for court or a misdemeanor gun possession charge. But while flipping yesterday, I ran across a Fox story that claimed it was for Felony armed robbery!? So far I haven't heard that anywhere else, so what gives?
in addition, has there been much revealed about Ms. Potter's background and record? Does she have complaints about similar actions and over use of violence, racial bias or outright racism in her career, anything that might hint at malicious intent?
Baltimore will no longer prosecute drug possession, prostitution and other low-level offenses
Mosby made the announcement on Friday following her office's one-year experiment in not prosecuting minor offenses to decrease the spread of Covid-19 behind bars.
"Today, America's war on drug users is over in the city of Baltimore. We leave behind the era of tough-on-crime prosecution and zero tolerance policing and no longer default to the status quo to criminalize mostly people of color for addiction, said Mosby in an official press release.

The experiment, known as The Covid Criminal Justice Policies, is an approach to crime developed with public health authorities. Instead of prosecuting people arrested for minor crimes like prostitution and public urination, the program dealt with those crimes as public health issues and work with community partners to help find solutions.
The program has led to decreases in the overall incarcerated Baltimore population by 18%, while violent and property crimes are down 20% and 36% respectively, according to the press release.
Mosby said her office will no longer prosecute the following offenses: drug and drug paraphernalia possession, prostitution, trespassing, minor traffic offense, open container violations, and urinating and defecating in public.

I'm not entirely sure about this approach (why are sex worker considered mental issues, for instance) but its hard to argue with numbers, though correlations doesn't automatically mean causation. Does anyone else have any thought on the subject? I'm quite interested in hearing what members that happen to live in Baltimore think of this change.
