Blocked (re-post) I should have posted here in general discussion. I am learning

So thanks to the teachings of John Fuggelsang, some right wing nut job just blocked me from commenting on his post about the border. Dude kept using the old testament and ignored the "welcome the stranger". I find this inability to self reflect on his behalf both disturbing and quite satisfying. What an uneducated wimp.

It's time

The horrific screen shot from Texas May 6th shopping mall should be shown to every single member of congress. In addition, those who's Christmas cards of their families with guns in their hands, can be used by DNC as evidence of candidates who are accomplices in these crimes against humanity.
When the picture of the running naked Vietnamese child was shown to the public, minds changed about that war. When Emit Till's picture was shown, minds changed about civil rights. When the students were killed in Ohio, etc.etc.
It is time to look at this, show it to those who lack empathy.
It is time

Blues peeps.

There are plenty of rock and rollers here. You all dig blues too? Here is a great number to get the conversation started.

Peace to all.

Jeff Beck

Good afternoon DUers. This is my first post in M.A. and I am sure many of us here are shocked and saddened at the news of Mr. Becks passing. I am among those who understand the incredible loss to our music community. I have been in tears reading the tributes from professional musicians who also admired this man who possessed un-obtainable skill level.
I have been a guitarist for 41 years. At 16 years of age I threw my strat in teenage frustration trying to figure out one Jeff Beck song. I matured. I have a different strat now.
Have any of you covered Jeff Beck? Has any band you have been in covered him? Have you ever seen a band that covered Jeff Beck. Do you have vids of you or friends covering Beck? If so please share your experience.
I have hosted an open mic near our home since 2015. During the pandemic I missed playing out tremendously. I decided to set up my entire rig in my living room, took some video and hosted a virtual open mic. I invited my friends to do the same, some did. Here is me trying to play Jeff Beck.
R.I.P. Mr. Beck and thanks for reading

Hearings

Wisco Doug wants to check in so here is my plan. I have an evening of t.v. watching.
These things are part of my t.v. night. Two days off from work, hearings playing through my P.A. with reverb Flying V and Marshall, no pedals just the channel switcher, Yamaha acoustic, song book, briefcase full of harps, beer variety on ice, pizza ordered, dog and my best friend and wife Sheila.
I have been looking forward to this night all week. Has anyone else have a special evening planned?

Union formed

Good Morning fellow D.U.ers
This is my first post so I feel I should quickly introduce myself and thank the administrators for the work they are doing.
My name is Doug and I have lived and worked as a baker and a musician in south east Wisconsin for all of my 54 years. The last seven years as the cake mixer for Troubadour Bakery which is owned and operated by Colectivo Coffee roaster.
Over the last two years, we have been trying to form a union. The company was not happy and spent big bucks on union avoidance advisors as well as captive audience meetings. We earned the right to vote, voted for unionization in the spring of 21. On March 25th, 2022 the company exhausted their last appeal to the NLRB. We will begin negotiations on our first contract in the coming months.
The last union bakery closed in the mid 90s. I have spent my life as a baker and have prayed to work for a union shop. Today Colectivo is the largest unionized coffee roaster in the United States.
I can not state this more clearly, it is possible to form a union. We just did it, you can too. Persevere.
IBEW Local 494 member Doug offers peace to all.
