19. I had this argument with a republican...

... friend (who does not like Trump) at dinner last night. He said when Trump is gone, our allies will return.

I think it’s not at all that simple. They know what he is and how he came to be. They know who has helped him get there and who has turned a blind eye to his treachery. The entire Republican Party is complicit in this disaster, and it remains still one of the two major political parties in the US - and happens also to be the one with most of the $ driven policies. Are they supposed to believe that, after the Orange shitgibbon is gone, the core Republican Party will abandon its agenda and not use its resources to try and re-Trump?

They would be fools to trust us as before when we are just a reality show carnival barker away from going off the rails again. Wouldn’t you keep us at arms length? The damage he is doing will have repercussions for decades.
