4. My family migrated from the "south" many years ago

I'm really glad we did. It provided opportunities for at least two generations that
we would not have had otherwise. In the years since, I've often passed through the south ... LA, MS, AL, TN..- and
all I can say is WOW. Outside of some moderately liberal cities, (I love New Orleans) the vast majority of white folks
live in a bubble - a scary scary bubble.

Sadly many people of color in those regions feel so disempowered after years of racism, they've become very
cynical - and don't bother to vote.
