(1,771 posts)I admire her, but have concerns. She seems to text much as Trump does, getting a rise out of people, but dividing us. Whether intentional or not. I don't like focusing on her errors as in my 60 years i have made many mistakes. I have also done some things right.
What we do not have time for is divisiveness. The country is in rough shape. We are so tired. Discourse can be healthy, and I am glad I found this site. But please, can we keep it healthy.
I will admit after all our years of progressive voting, making strides in so many areas, I am so upset with republicans and all involved - the mega rich, the Bush legacy, the federalists, the bigots, racists, misogynists, xenaphobes - and yes I am lumping all of them as anti american. They have undone so much that we accomplished. She seems to be fighting all of the corruption.
I hope she is just excited, and will realize that she needs to think before she sends. But if she continues to irritate myself and others then I will have to wonder about her goals.
I was lucky to have many mentors throughout my life. My biggest one now is my 7 year old grandson. I love my 28 year old daughter, and am so proud of her. But when I think of the future it is my young innocent smart sassy loving trusting grandson that I use as my inspiration. And I remember how I knew it all at her age.
I will give her a chance but will be cautious. We need to let the young make mistakes, but we also need to call them on it. If she is smart she will learn. If she doesn't learn she will be gone.
And yes, many of of my friends, or at this point used to be friends as I am one that has washed her hands of those who continued to back Trump, are republicans. But I am pretty sure that those republicans are not on this site.
So can we please pull together and save this country. And stop bickering, accusing, fighting. Sorry if I sound preachy, but I am so tired of it all.
