In reply to the discussion: AOC has something to say about her older House colleagues [View all]George II
(67,782 posts)I don't doubt that people in this discussion would be saying the same things if the person bashing older members of Congress was a middle-aged white man, an older black man, a native American, an LGBT woman, etc. But they're not, those people are not tearing down fellow members of Congress. That you're insinuating that the reasons for the push back here (by others, too) are those you articulate is mind boggling.
It's not because the person is a woman, or young, or Latina. What makes you say that? Has anyone even hinted that? But remember, if she hadn't come out firing at our senior members of Congress in the first place this whole discussion would not be taking place.
So now, c'mon SMC, what say you about the "attempted teardown" of our older Democratic members of Congress - a wee bit "passive-aggressive" or just simply aggressive?
Yes, there are dozens of newly elected Democratic Representatives and Senators entering the Congress for the first time in two weeks, and almost all of them are concentrating on their jobs at hand, not repeatedly criticizing their fellow Democratic colleagues every chance they get. The fact is they're not so.
Yes indeed, truly fascinating.
