Saying that the future (and all potential change for a greater good) belongs to youngsters is hardly a courageous or visionary statement. It gets a big mention at every June commencement ceremony at every college and university in the country.
But todays young people are also the futures old people, and be warned, the conveyer belt to seniorhood is forever running fast.
Separating people and lumping them into stereotypes is a sad and dangerous act: this group is lazy, that group doesnt have much intelligence, and old people? Oh, they are useless, behind the times, and in the way.
While I appreciate the zeal, energy and motivation of youth, they would do well to learn a bit from those who possess the institutional knowledge, those whove put in the sweat and toil, those who know where the potholes are. You know, OLD PEOPLE.
Not everyone morphs into a jerkwad Republican fossil. Not everyone sells out.
