3. Instead of taking to the streets, we should be burning up the phone lines to Congress.

Marching and protesting are fine, but most people still have too much to lose to commit to a general strike. Jobs & mortgages, children to take to school, daily responsibilities that don't go away, just because the country's in crisis.

However, we all can & should be calling our MOCs (Members of Congress) on a weekly, if not daily basis. My MOC numbers are in my phone. I take 10 minutes on Sunday & compose a brief message, either about specific issues or the general state of things, & then I call all three of my MOCs. You don't get a lot of time so keep it quick & be nice. Leave your name & zip code at the end. Call other MOCs too, if they are critical to key votes. Also, it doesn't hurt to call them when they've done something good. If you call during business hours you may get a live person, so be prepared. And always be professional.

The last time Congress' email/vmail boxes were overloaded was the financial crisis of 2008.

Are we there yet?
