Some are saying we should lower the boom, our democracy is slipping away.

Others say that's giving them what they want and we should fight hate with love - not just to be good people, but to succeed ultimately in wresting democracy back.

It's hard to know which way to turn.

All I do know is this is the week that wiped away any doubt for me that what I've been seeing for 3 years - the lies, the intentional harm borne of hate and racism, the coordination with a foreign adversary for personal gain, the grift, the traitorism - it's all true. There are no two sides.

I find some peace in that.

May fate or gods protect us.
