7. Well, from my viewpoint as a retired RN, things could have been a lot worse.

You can easily live without your gall bladder, for instance. And losing part of his intestines and colon could be bad, depending on which parts. The liver is quite sturdy and can regenerate itself, over time.

So, yeah, it could have been worse.
