We’ve had Kaiser thru Covered CA for a couple of years. The co-pays and deductibles keep going up, making the insurance basically worthless. And that was with an ACA subsidy of $1400 a month for the wife and I. The problem was that there was no affordable option for us to, say, pay a Medicare-level monthly premium to get a better plan. The options for that would have cost us around $500 a month out of pocket.

My doctor wants me to get a test that would cost me $2300 OOP on my current plan. Might as well wait til Medicare clicks in where it might cost me $200.

A bird in the hand... comradebillyboy Jun 2019 #1
