(22,114 posts)sometimes they (our democratic leaders) get frustrated too. As ehrnst has said earlier, we need to win more seats in Congress as well as the presidency too in 2020. We took a major step in moving forward in winning in 2018 Nov. elections and gained control of the House of Rep.
This is a big step as it literally puts a roadblock right in front of the worst excesses of this administration...it may take time as funding established in prior years continues to run current government programs and branches.
I would say our leaders (democratic) are doing the best they can, under the circumstances. I applaud them for doing what they can and will continue to support them wholeheartedly. It can't be easy dealing w/ the idiot in the WH, who has literally reneged on several pieces of legislation that was pretty well done (e.g. a DACA solution, rump bitched about it and said that he would not sign).
Right now, I'd say that the republican leadership is slowly becoming aware of the lack of actual power that they have now, being that anything that goes through their GOP controlled Senate has to still go through the House of Rep.
