(4,392 posts)28. My Romas are already turning red. I'm hoping for more fruit
but tomatoes won't fruit if over 90 degrees during the day, and just too hot overnight as well. No zukes or squash due to powdery mildew attack though plants still green and alive. Awaiting a nice long 5th cuke and the growth of some babies, but we'll see. Green cabbages making small heads; red cabbages not so much but not chewed up either, so I've hope.
Bees are in short supply as well. I've seen a few bumbles, but only, count 'em, two honeybees this whole season.
Did make me smile to see a hummer this morning getting a long, slow drink at the feeder; perhaps he'll be back near sundown???
