15. That's a particularly grating sin for me.

I protest every time some anchor does it. I tweet them or post about it. One time I even wrote to their news headquarters about it.

Only some seem to know the difference between an adjective and a noun.

That’s one of the top items on my list in my fantasy game “What I Would Do If I Ran MSNBC”. Along with:
1) Birddog the control room, with a stop watch. I want the names of all the guests up and held for a minimum of ten seconds to make sure they’re well identified. Ten seconds. EVERY time their face is shown. None of this one-second-and-a-half full up and then a fast fade down. Hell, I’ve watched through entire segments when nobody bothered to pot up on the identifier of one or more guests. It literally did not happen at all! So you never got WHO THAT WAS! They forget: not everybody’s watching all day or even all through a show. People tune in and out, switch during the commercials and come back late and miss the introductions at the top of the segment. One reason why deejays would do a back-announce after a set of songs, so the listener would know whose tune was just played.
2) Issue an iron-clad directive: “Absolutely NO reference to ‘Democrat Party’ or ‘Democrat bill’ or ‘Democrat Congress’ or ‘Democrat Senator’ or ANY of that. The first time you say that on the air, or you allow some CON guest do that and you DON’T correct it, you’re warned. If there’s a second offense, you’re yanked off the air for a day. If there’s a third, you’re fired.”
3) Andrea “oh but her emails” Mitchell is reassigned, or encouraged to retire.
4) Joy Reid is moved into the Andrea Mitchell slot.
5) Long-term contract for Rachel Maddow. Give her anything she wants. Maybe even ”Meet the Press.”
6) Relieve Chuck Todd of all “MTP”-related duties. Encourage him to resign. There should be a price to pay for that miserable attitude he had about his gig - “I just put Guest A on and let ‘em blab, and the. I put Guest B with an opposing view on and let THAT person blab. And that’s that. I’ve done my job!” NO, Chuck. You HAVEN’T. Fact-check much? He’s somewhat better by now but I feel strongly that he still believes that.
7) Bring back Keith Olbermann.
8) Tell Steve Kornacki to STOP waving his arms around like a windmill on crack, IN FRONT OF his graphics board. You can never see all the statistics! Some of us study those and use them in our activism. Can you PLEASE take even just a half step to the side so we can SEE the actual info you’re talking about?
9) Tell Ali Velshi the same thing - except in his case, can you please NOT stand in front of the big graphics board while you’re doing a segment on them??? Again, some of us study those graphics and base our activism on them. Yes, during YOUR time slot, too.
10) NO, repeat, NO GOPer or CONservative guest or talking head gets the last word. This is a liberal-leaning network. The last thing viewers are left with before you cut to commercial is the LIBERAL message.
11) No female anchor goes on camera in skimpy peek-a-boo tops or spaghetti straps. (Sorry. As a woman who was on the air herself, for me there’s still the credibility factor. You’re dressing for the anchor position, NOT going to some cocktail party, dammit!) Alex Witt did that one Saturday afternoon. I swear, some camera angles made her look like she was naked from the waist up!
12) Address the Chris Matthews problem. He garbles his speech on the air so often I can’t help but want to write in, telling him to lay off the three-martini lunches. Either that or encourage him to slow way down OR reassign him. Maybe a special here and there, but there are too many times when he veers into being almost incoherent. But no more weekday time slot. Lots of talent out there that deserves that Monday-through-Friday showcase. How ‘bout Al Franken maybe?
13) Remind Chris Hayes that he has now had his Bernie Sanders moment for this campaign season. And that will suffice. Throughout 2016 one might have suspected he was on Bernie’s campaign payroll. “And now, an interview with Bernie Sanders...” once a week, every week! Seriously? Chris, if you’re that into him, why not resign and go work on his campaign full time? You can legitimately be his spokesman that way.
14) I STILL want to get rid of those lurid weekend canned crime shows. Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night give John Fugelsang a two-hour block of comedy and political satire. To fill any way he wants. And then rerun it. OR I suppose we could make it a three-hour block. Radio people do that all day/night long.
15) Bring back Tamron Hall. She was a delight, and good at her job.
16) Absolutely, positively, flatly, categorically NO CONS getting their own show. Even if it’s 7:30am Eastern time on Saturday morning. Who the fuck EVER thought the smug asshole Hugh Hewitt deserved valuable airtime on MSNBC must have been smoking something. Nicolle Wallace is entirely different. I like her show, and her schtick. She’s reformed, and recovering, and she does a good job.
And, since I’m writing this while trump is running his mouth and lying his ass off in one of those informal press gaggles,
17) We’re not gonna run those freebies any longer. Why are we still showcasing his Lie-a-Thons in his chair or on his way to the helicopter? And where’s the fact-checking immediately afterwards?
18) It will be policy to use the word “lie” more often to describe what he says. Let’s cut the tiptoe-around-the-truth crap and call it what it IS.
That’s my list, for starters, anyway.
