In a wildlly unconventional press conference on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin answered a question in a way that many have interpreted as an admission that Russia had meddled in the 2016 U.S. elections. But the White House transcript of the event omits the first half of the reporters question, changing the context and, therefore, the meaning of Putins answer to the question. The change remains as yet unexplained. Below is the full transcript, with the omitted sentence.
