(81,238 posts)What first struck me about her color choices was the first time she won the Speakers gavel. That day, she wore a jacket of a kind of plum color. A mix of blue and red. I noticed that. And I remember wondering if she chose that color to symbolize a lets unite message, wearing a blend of the two parties blue and red battle colors.
I also noted the bright red coat she wore to that first meeting with trump after the Dems took back the House. Remember that now-famous image of her leaving the White House with her sunglasses and a sly smile? I think she was telegraphing something there, too. Maybe a hey red team leader, your ass is MINE message?
Those cues do exist. Madeleine Albright wrote a book about her collection of brooches and the deliberate choices she made as to which pin to wear to which occasion or meeting or event. To subtly communicate or underscore an unspoken message.
