A joke [View all]
I posted this joke as a response to another thread.
Trump is under fire and like Nixon, he's roaming the halls of the White House late at night.
He encounters the portrait of George Washington and says to the picture, "George, you were the greatest president until me. You were the first and you set the stage for the future. Why don't people love me?"
Incredibly, President Washington speaks to Trump.
"Donald, your problem is that you lie too much. People need to hear the truth. Even though it's not true, people love the story about me and the cherry tree. Dial it back with the lying and you'll be fine."
Trump walks away and a little while later, he encounters JFK's portrait. Trump says, "Jack, you had such a short presidency but people still love you to this day. What's your secret?"
Once again, the portrait speaks. "Donald, you keep putting yourself before the country. All of us have big egos but you never think of anyone but yourself. Do something for the people and they'll come around."
None of this is resonating with Trump and he walks away muttering to himself. Then he sees the Lincoln Portrait.
Trump asks, "Abe, your hat was great but so were you. You saved the Nation from the Civil War. How can I get people to respect me like they do you?"
Lincoln looks down at Trump sadly and says, "Donald, you're too tense and it shows in your daily behavior. You need to relax more. Why don't you go see a play?"
