California/the west coast is already moving in this direction. The northeast is already peeved at the SALT realignments for example, and has the financial staying power to negotiate as a region. The anti abortion regions will have their say and either align with the progressives or take pride in their toughing it out. The country, as we knew it, is no longer and has been gravitating to the tribal mentalities of the middle east. We survived the Civil War, and I do mean survive because it still goes on buoyed by the new anti choice rhetoric. After this expose of republican intransigence against the truth, the smart's cannot be pushed into a corner.
The move will continue to be gradual, but the pace will accelerate if he gets re-elected. He is opposed to the scientific influence on decisions and the hopeful fight against climate change cannot wait for politics. The next generation will revolt if they know what's good for them.
