(31,388 posts)We have 8 cases diagnosed now. Two big University campuses, UNC Chapel Hill and Duke with well known medical Schools and hospitals. Lots of tech in the Research Triangle and many of those companies have employees working remotely.
The know how to react to minimize transmission of the disease is here and we have a Dem governor who will listen to people with public health expertise.
The problem is testing. I'm convinced the reason that has been screwed up lies at the feet of 45 and Republicans who saw an opportunity to make $$ and decided to privatize the testing process. Absolutely disgusting example of exactly what is wrong with health care in this country. People will die from this disease because we didn't test and isolate early to prevent the spread of the disease all because greedy, money loving Republicans saw a chance to make a buck and were in a position to throw the testing to private labs.
