Knowing they violate constitutional rights of peaceful protesters will backfire on them after lawsuits , and discovery shows this was premeditated promoted violence coming from Barr and trump for intimidation , and to stop legal protest against trump. Civil lawsuits will follow , and by then trump will be ousted from office with no way to corrupt the proceedings other than threats he'll claim he'll expose other powerful people unless it goes away, but it won't work.
