is at the New Moon on October 16, at 3:31 pm.

Working to prevent someone from causing harm is an appropriate spell for the new moon.

Working a spell to CAUSE harm is bad for your karma.

To bind, one can take an image of a person and wrap it in twine, saying words such as

"With this twine I bind you" for every loop of the string. Tie the two ends in a triple knot, saying something like
"You are now bound, and will not cause harm" for each knot. After the last one, you can say "so mote it be" or "so it must be."

I usually say "for the good of all, and according to free will, and so mote it be" using Marion Weinstein's book "Positive Magic" as a general guide.
