IN was an anomaly in 2008. 1st time since 1964 it went blue in a presidential election, thanks in large part to 1) high African American turnout in the Gary region and 2) Obama had campaigned a lot here for the May primary.

But since then this state has taken a hard right turn for whatever reason. Nearly all statewide races are now won by the GOP and we haven’t had a Dem Governor since ‘04.
