Another couple you might find useful for character development:
The gift of dyslexia - talks about how many with dyslexia can, in their minds, set a problem on a table in their minds & walk around & look at it for resolution consideration from many angles. Although, I don't believe this is limited to persons with dyslexia. I've done this alk my life, but am not dyslexic.
"Look Me in the Eye," by John Elder Robison. He was the engineer who designed & implemented Pink Floyd Sound's special effects - pyrotechnics & light shows. Born with asperger's (no longer a diagnostic category since the publication of DSM-5, conveniently!), long before autism was known. Sort of like Evanovich's Emerson Knight in "Curious Minds."
