I don't live in NY anymore, but people in NY today are probably not much different from people anywhere else really, when you say you are different from the other guy, but start doing things that look like the other guy, then people start saying, we might as well vote for the other guy, if the other guy says something we like.

As far trump pardons. - The Lt Gov takes over if Cuomo resigns. Which I think he should, to ensure that Dems retain the Governorship next year. He's under water. I doubt he is a viable candidate to win another term. He should give his successor air to breathe.

As it stands, trump would not be eligible for a pardon. If a republican wins next year. Can they change the pardon rules? I don't know. I am not a legal scholar. But given that he is under water. He should go, to ensure that Dems win the election next year.
