Turner was not elected because not because she is "independent" but because she ran AGAINST the Democratic Party in a Democratic Primary.

I have no problem with any progressive Democratic candidate saying that the Party has to do more, or calling out things within the party that they disagree with. Many progressive Democrats who are serving in Congress have done so, and have fought to pull the party towards progressivism. No problem with that. I have a problem when a Democratic candidate focuses solely on the Democratic Party as THE problem, says that the leader of the Democratic Party is like a bowl of shit, and seeks only to disrupt the party, ostensibly planning to switch affiliation if she had won the primary. That is not "independence" that is deceit and treachery.


Also, god forbid that the Democratic Party appeal to diverse coalitions of voters to get their preferred candidate into office. I did not know that voters in Shaker Heights, in the fucking district, had to sit out this primary and just let Black voters decide who to represent the district. By the way, Black leaders ALSO endorsed Shontell Brown over Turner, but then that doesn't count right? Because those were White Black leaders right?

Turner got beat because she actually had nothing but negative populist rhetoric on her side. No real plans except, "send me to Washington to fuck with the Democrats".
