A point I'm not hearing made enough about the evacuation from Afghanistan [View all]

Fact: Trump had more time in office to plan the evacuation than Biden did. Why wasn't a lot of the groundwork for such a massive pull out done during Trump's time in office? He was, after all, the one who set a date and made the deal with the Taliban. What did he do after he set that date and made the deal?

Consider the timeline:

-Trump made his deal with the Taliban in February of 2020

-Trump's deal set a date in May of 2021 for America to leave.

-That means there would have been 15 months to plan the evacuation if that date had been kept

-Trump's presidency lasted until the end of January 2021

-That means Trump was president during a whole year of the preparation time

-What was the Trump administration doing to effect a smooth transition out of Afghanistan?

-Why wasn't the Trump administration making plans to help the translators and others get the visas they would need?

-What plans were being made to accept refugees into the United States and other countries under Trump?

-Getting out of a 20 year war takes more time than 7 months. Just sayin.

-Biden had 7 months, Trump had a year.
