I've spent loads of time living in major cities overseas. I also lived in LA for 4 years.
The only illnesses that have left me bedridden are GI ones (thank you, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Lima). But I did have a horrendous case of the "flu" in January 2020 and I had COVID-19 in July. I wasn't really bedridden for COVID so much as quarantined (I had very few symptoms thanks to Pfizer).
