(4,395 posts)So some people don't eat Kelloggs products. I don't. It's not really a commentary on anyone else or what they choose to do with their lives. I stopped eating processed foods back in the 90s when I was on the Atkins diet. When I quit the diet, I'd more or less broken the habit and never got back into it. Also when I was broke after the Global Financial Crisis I got in the habit of cooking most of my food from scratch because I couldn't afford processed foods.
I don't think that makes me a "better person who only subsists on hand picked fruits and berries". It makes me a moderately health and budget conscious food consumer. "Processed foods aren't great for your health" isn't really that radical of a position at the end of the day.
You're doing a lot of heavy lifting with a handful of ambiguous phrases there.
Since we're all on the same side here, why don't you take a deep breath and think about why you feel the need to be so defensive on this topic. Is attacking other DUers because they comment that they don't eat that much processed food really the best possible use of your time and energy?
