Showing Original Post only (View all)An incident at my gym today... [View all]
I was wearing my Obama 08 t-shirt with my sweat pants during my workout this morning. It's a nice one, navy blue with stitched letters and the Obama symbol.
Next to me, on the recumbent bike was an old man. When I was getting ready to finish my ride, he turned to me and this conversation began:
"Pardon me, but I don't think that t-shirt is an appropriate one to wear to the gym."
"Oh really? Well, I'm sorry, but I think it is."
"Well, I have freedom of speech too." WTF?
"Of course you do. I would never deny you that right." And then I walked away.
Weird.

As has been said, they feel that speech they disagree with infringes on their 'freedom'.
