In AA, it was drummed into our head via the serenity prayer....
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
This is great advise for anyone, but especially for those who are addicted to things that take you away from reality. It really just means that those of us who dwell to much on the things that we can not change and can not let them go that causes people to obsess and there for get lost.
