Usually where I see it is on any kind of government application, like unemployment or voter registration. and it is usually optional. I am 68 years old, have applied for jobs many times, hired many people, bought many cars and several homes. An employer would be insane to put it on a job application (other than a government job) because they would be setting themselves up for a discrimination lawsuit. I also sold cars for a few years and assisted many customers filling out loan applications, and I can assure you there are no questions about race on any application I have ever seen.

Where do you live?
