Apparently the shooter was non-binary, but what was their upbringing?
We dont do gay: Father of Colorado shooter Anderson Lee Aldrich goes on anti-gay rant in bizarre interview (NY Post)
The father of Anderson Lee Aldrich the suspect in a mass shooting at a Colorado nightclub spewed anti-gay comments in a rambling, incoherent explanation of his relationship with his estranged son.
The dad bizarrely claimed during an interview with CBS 8- San Diego that his first concern upon learning his son allegedly killed five at an LGBT establishment was whether his child was homosexual.
I was scared. I was like Oh my god, st, is he gay? And hes not gay, Aaron Brink, 48, said with an exaggerated sigh of relief.
Brink, who lives in San Diego and has been estranged from Aldrich for years, said he doesnt support same-sex relationships.
Im a Mormon, the former MMA fighter-turned-porn star told a reporter for the station. Im a conservative Republican and we dont do gay.
...
Emphasis added. And Republican homophobe estranged dad was porn star? A porn star?
So the shooter was a lone crazy and not a Republican carrying out the party line as some have speculated.
But it's more nuanced. Their whole upbringing was twisted by a Republican systematic hatred of self.

Since they were estranged for years, the son probably learned his values from others.

Sounds like dear old dad taught him to use violence to get what he wants.

Is the shooter non-binary? I thought that was just a statement his lawyer put out?
