41. I think you're right there....and I have another factor I think is in play, too...

I don't think the Prez could wisely do that when it wasn't clear if he had at least more than enough people solidly WITH his leadership, or at least parts of it.

I think also, the public nature of the election sends a mssg of strength, unity, positivity, to EVERYONE.

Bottom line: No mass spinning possible on this--the election-- no matter which media world you embrace: the Reality Based World, or ConservoJesus Land.

Lincoln really would beat these mofos' asses with a cherry tree branch.
