1- we knew Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Our enemy was 8n a different country
2- we who had been in the first Gulf War knew we could have captured Saddam when he violated the ceasefire by attacking the Kurds
3- even if he still had chem weapons it wasn't worth a war as long as he wasn't using them
4- the post-war plan of being welcomed as liberators was a ridiculous fantasy that had no basis in logic or common sense
