Age in context [View all]

George Washington was 57 when elected and retired at 65. Life expectancy at that time was 57

Thomas Jefferson was also 57 when elected, having outlived the average life expectancy of the time. BTW - Jefferson died at age 83.

Jimmy Carter is 99. It age 89, he was building houses.

I have seen 80 year old men that could kick my 68 year old ass, and I have seen 18 year old kids that couldn't keep up with me during PT.

My Executive Officer on the LHD I was on was 52. He left 18-19 year old kids layng in sweaty heaps on the flight deck after mandatory morning PT.

Like I have often said; "just because there is snow on the roof, doesn't mean there's no fire in the belly"
